April Mackenzie, global head, public policy for Grant Thornton International, the global accounting organisation, has been invited to join the Standards Advisory Council (SAC) of the International Accounting Standards Board ((IASB). She will serve a three year term. The SAC serves as a forum in which the IASB consults individuals and representatives of organisations that are affected by its work to develop International Financial Reporting Standards.
Said April, "I look forward to joining the SAC and presenting the views and ideas of Grant Thornton International and its member firms. I shall be pleased to contribute to the consultation process that will help us to achieve greater global acceptance of the work the IASB is doing - which will benefit all stakeholders in the world's financial markets."
