Grant Thornton organized the first Balkan Development Programme – Basic Level in Macedonia
The first Balkan Development Programme-Basic Level, organized by Grant Thornton Macedonia, was held at the hotel Manastir in Berovo from 24th to 29th May, 2009. A total of 21 participants from Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia attended.
The programme provided a holistic prospective of Grant Thornton International, its aims, objectives, marketing initiatives and global visions and values. In addition, focus was given on the Assurance and Specialist Advisory Services, Valuations and IFRS. Furthermore, the guest speakers Slobodan Sesum - Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Slovenian Embassy in Macedonia, Vojo Miladic - GM of Porsche Leasing for Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro and Gjore Andonovski - Head of Department of Porsche Leasing Macedonia discussed the changing business environment and the recent business developments in the Balkan region.
The idea of the Balkan Development Programme was born in 2008 when the Leadership Board of Grant Thornton in Macedonia launched a strategy designed to sustain the long term growth and profitability of the firm. The main objective of the strategy positions Grant Thornton as a leader in the accounting profession serving a continuously growing number of private and public companies. To support the strategy, the Leadership Board of Grant Thornton Macedonia established the Training Institute to organize and run centralized regional trainings.
The key benefit of the Balkan Development Programme is the opportunity for the Grant Thornton partners and employees from different service areas and different parts of the Balkan region to exchange business ideas and experiences thus building a strong network of relationships aligned around a common shared mindset.
